NISSAN BEYOND HOTHAM ' - AN EXCEPTIONAL 4WD EXPERIENCE

 

Calling all four wheel drivers! Don't miss Mt Hotham's premier 4WD event, Beyond Hotham,  which is set to host convoys of 4WD enthusiasts from March 22 ' - April 1, 2012.

 

Held over ten days in Victoria's famous legends and high country,  the festival encompasses a multitude of day trips, overnight trips, workshops, seminars, social events; that offer an exceptional four wheel driving experience suitable for any level of ability.

 

Come along and join us and experience a unique mountain adventure - driving over a razor back ridges at high altitude, navigating through river crossings where gold may lie beneath you, walking in the footsteps of brave pioneers, and enjoying local tales over damper and a billy tea.

 

The trip leaders, most whom have over 35 years of 4WDing behind them, put their own unique theme and flavour to the program. Trip highlights this year include the Golden Footsteps Discovery Tour, a four day adventure into Wonnangatta; Beyond Mayford and The Long Spur; High on Hut History; and Blue Rag Range and Mt Buckland, lead by Senior Sergeant Doug Incoll from Victoria Police.

 

If you feel like staying in the village, there are plenty of workshops and activities on where you where you can learn new four wheel driving skills or perhaps brush up on your techniques. Workshop topics include Winching & Safe Vehicle Recovery, Getting To Know Your VehicleFirst Aid Kit Preparation, Introduction to Safe Chainsaw Use and Maintenance, Navigation & Communications, and Tyre Talk.

 

A host of social events will be on offer to enable everyone to relax after a big day of driving, including Happy Hours & get together dinners. Special guest presenters will be in attendence including local historian Ian Stapleton, and Geoff Jackson whom will delight all with his captivating poetry and high country tales.

The accommodation options are excellent at Mt Hotham and ski club lodges are ideal for 4WD clubs interested in booking a venue for their members. With their commercial sized kitchens and cosy lounges, they are the perfect place to relax with fellow club members at the end of a fantastic day's driving.
